Explore why and how things fly, float, and fall! We bring our custom-built wind tubes and your classroom or library becomes a hands-on science center! Using lightweight materials, PK – 2 students investigate the properties of materials that allow them to fly. They then experiment with simple materials, build their own floating creatures, and test them in the wind tubes!
This play-based activity has three goals – make it fly, make it float, and make it dance with another creature! We focus on experimentation, iteration, sharing, taking turns, and developing reasoning and understanding based on observed phenomena.
This activity is perfect for a small classroom or larger media center or gym area.
During out-of-school time we bring a set of three wind tubes to engage families during STEM nights and large gatherings of community members and educators.
