FutureMakers will be hosting a station in Mini Light City where participants can come to experience different ways to use light to create amazing things. The Zoo meets the Makerspace!  Build a simple machine based on a real, living snake - that you can see and touch. This inspiring, hands-on experience shows how animal bodies are designed and function. Everyone goes home with an invention inspired by snake skeletons and musculature, and stories about their experience with a living creature! This program is geared towards kids and teens (ages 6+).

Imagine making a painting using with glowing lights, by moving in space and time! Participants explore LED’s, batteries and conductive materials to invent glowing light brushes, and use their creations in long exposure photos that capture light, color and motion! Each child takes their light brush home, and you receive digital copies of all the light painting photos they create! This program is intended for young makers between the ages of 4 and 8.
