Wind-up Vehicles

Design and build a unique vehicle that zooms using a speedy spring-driven motor! This open-ended design challenge is a kit of parts - learners choose from a variety of wheels and connectors, and attach them to a wind-up motor mechanism. This Spark includes 6 paper tubes for easily customized axles, three pairs of different sized foam wheels, a set of six bushings and unique "birdmouth" connectors to build out the body of their vehicle. Once learners complete a basic build, they can imagine, test, and improve their design using various components and any configuration they desire. Learners can combine their inventions with other projects to create giant rolling machines. And when they're ready, it's time to race!
