Getting a price and starting an order

How do I get a price quote for FutureMakers Sparks?

Build a free instant quote at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote in about two minutes, no salesperson required. Tell it who the Sparks are for and how many learners, adjust quantities in a line-item editor, and a PDF quote lands in your inbox within a minute or two. The PDF lists every line item, shipping, and any discounts, ready to forward to a purchasing office or grant administrator.

How do I use the order form on the website?

The order form on the website is the quote builder at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote. It has three steps: tell FutureMakers about your program, who it is for, how many learners, and when you need them, then build your quote in a line-item editor, adjusting quantities and watching shipping and discounts update live, and you can save it and finish later. The third step sends a PDF quote to your inbox, ready to forward to purchasing so they can cut a PO. Use this form for a purchase order, a grant-funded order, or any order that needs an official quote first.

Does FutureMakers accept purchase orders, and who do I send one to?

Yes. FutureMakers accepts purchase orders from schools, districts, museums, and registered nonprofits on Net 15 payment terms. Build a quote at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote and include your PO number when you accept it; FutureMakers sends an invoice when the items on the purchase order ship. If you would rather have an invoice sent to your office first, email sales@kidsmakethingsbetter.com and ask.

Does a PO on Net 15 terms need anything from me before the invoice arrives?

No. Once your quote is accepted with a PO number, FutureMakers ships the order and sends the invoice at that point, when the items on the purchase order ship. There's nothing to confirm or sign in between; the invoice is your next contact after acceptance.

Can I just order online with a credit card?

Yes. Go to shop.futuremakers.fun, add the pack you want to your cart, and check out with a credit card like any online store, no quote or purchase order needed. Every product page also carries a separate "add to quote" link next to Add to cart for anyone who wants a PO-ready quote instead. FutureMakers' published policy applies an automatic 5 percent discount to card purchases, no cap, whether you check out directly or through a quote.

Can I build a quote myself, or do I need to talk to someone first?

You can build a complete quote yourself, with no salesperson involved, at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote. Fill in your program and learner count, adjust Sparks and quantities in the line-item editor, and the PDF generates the moment you submit. If you would rather talk it through first, a free 20-minute call is also on offer, and neither path is required before the other.

How long is a FutureMakers quote valid?

A FutureMakers quote is valid 90 days from the date it is sent. Your quote PDF states its own expiration date, so check that for your specific order. If you need more time, reply to the quote email and ask for an extension.

What pack sizes and prices does FutureMakers sell?

Every FutureMakers Spark sells in three sizes: a Single Learner Pack, a Small Group Pack of 10, and a Class Pack of 25. A Single Learner Pack runs $8.95, a Small Group Pack runs $59.50 to $69.50, and a Class Pack runs $105.00 to $122.00, with the exact price set by Spark. That works out to $5.95 to $6.95 per learner in a Small Group Pack and $4.20 to $4.88 per learner in a Class Pack. See the full Spark catalogue for live pricing on all 17.

Getting a PO-ready quote, step by step

The three steps on the quote builder at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote.

  1. 1Tell us about your program

One minute of context: who it's for, how many learners, and when you need the Sparks.

  2. 2Build your quote

Adjust quantities, add or remove kits, and watch shipping and discounts update live in the line-item editor. Save it and come back later if you want.

  3. 3Get a PDF in your inbox

Forward it to your purchasing office. They cut the PO, orders ship within one business day, and FutureMakers sends an invoice when the items on the purchase order ship.

Purchase orders and vendor setup

Can FutureMakers provide a W-9 for vendor setup?

Check "We need a W-9 from FutureMakers" in the quote builder's Purchasing Information section at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote and it ships with your PDF quote, or download it directly from the site footer. No account or extra paperwork is needed for the W-9 itself; it comes as a plain PDF, ready to hand to your purchasing office.

Can FutureMakers be added as an approved vendor in our own procurement system?

Yes. Say so on the quote form at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote, or reply to your quote email with the forms your procurement office needs. FutureMakers completes its side, the W-9 and any vendor forms, the same day for most systems and within a business day for the rest; your district's own review and approval afterward is outside FutureMakers' control.

Is FutureMakers already a registered vendor with Baltimore County Public Schools?

Yes. FutureMakers is a registered BCPS vendor, number VSO100013688, listed under its legal name Unicorn and Woodsman LLC and doing business as FutureMakers. Whether FutureMakers is already approved in your own district varies district to district, since a district-by-district registry is not something FutureMakers publishes; check your district's own vendor list first.

How you pay

What payment methods does FutureMakers accept?

Four: ACH bank transfer, a purchasing card, a purchase order on Net 15 terms invoiced after shipment, and a check mailed after you sign the quote. Pick a method on the quote form at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/quote and it calculates any discount or fee automatically. ACH and purchasing-card payments both carry an automatic 5 percent discount.

Are there discounts for paying by ACH or purchasing card?

Yes. FutureMakers applies an automatic 5 percent discount to a quote paid by ACH bank transfer or purchasing card, with no cap. Volume coupons and multi-Spark bundling can stack on top of the ACH or card discount.

How do I make a tax-exempt purchase?

Getting a quote: in the quote builder's Purchasing Information section, check "Our organization is tax-exempt" and enter your tax ID number; it prints on your quote. Buying in the store: create a free store account and submit your tax ID number and a tax-exempt certificate for review; once approved, tax comes off automatically on future orders under that account, with no separate step at checkout.

Shipping and trying before you buy

How fast do orders ship?

Orders ship within one business day. Orders placed on a weekend or holiday ship the next business day. Purchase-order and large bulk orders may ship on a different timeline: email sales@kidsmakethingsbetter.com to coordinate a delivery date.

What if my order arrives damaged, wrong, or doesn't match what I ordered?

Email sales@kidsmakethingsbetter.com within 15 days of receipt with your order number and photos if an order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect. FutureMakers arranges a replacement or refund at no cost to you, including return shipping if a return is needed. For any other return, email first to get a Return Authorization: the pack must come back unused and in its original packaging within 30 days of purchase, and the buyer pays return shipping. Custom orders and bulk orders are final sale.

Can I pick up my order, or does FutureMakers ship to Canada or overseas?

You can pick up an order at FutureMakers' Baltimore warehouse and pay nothing for shipping by selecting that option on the quote form. FutureMakers ships to the US and Canada only. A Canada order is subject to additional duties and shipping charges applied after the order is placed. FutureMakers doesn't accept international purchase orders.

Can I try a Spark before I commit to a full order?

Yes. Request a free sample at kidsmakethingsbetter.com/samples, shipped via UPS at no cost, and name the Spark you want to test. A separate event samples page exists for a program planning one specific event rather than an ongoing season. A paid Single Learner Pack at $8.95 is the other low-cost way to test a build yourself before ordering a full Class Pack.

Order size and bulk orders

Can I buy fewer than 10 kits?

Yes. Every FutureMakers Spark also sells as an $8.95 Single Learner Pack with no minimum, so a program that needs 3, 5, or 12 kits can buy that many singles instead of a full 10-pack. Buying 7 singles already costs more ($62.65) than the least expensive Small Group Pack of 10 ($59.50), and 8 singles ($71.60) costs more than the most expensive one ($69.50), so a 10-pack is the better deal once you need 7 or 8 units, depending on the Spark.

Is there a minimum or maximum order size?

There is no published minimum beyond a single $8.95 kit and no published maximum either. The quote builder scales from a single classroom up through a 300-plus-learner, multi-site tier, and FutureMakers accepts purchase orders at any size from schools, districts, museums, and registered nonprofits on Net 15 terms. For a large or district-wide order, email sales@kidsmakethingsbetter.com before you submit a quote so pricing can be worked out directly.

Are there bundle options that combine multiple Sparks?

Yes. Several Sparks are sold as fixed bundles, like the Wind-Up Family, Small Group, and Bulk Bundles that pair Wind-Up Vehicles with Hypnotizers and Flying Machines, and the Art Club bundle that pairs Crankie Contraptions, Drawbots, and Linkages. Beyond fixed bundles, the quote builder itself supports mixing any Sparks and grade bands into a single quote, and most orders built there include more than one Spark type. Browse the Spark catalogue for current bundle listings.

Are there extra discounts for a large or district-wide order?

Besides the automatic 5 percent ACH or card discount, FutureMakers offers two more ways to save on a large order. Buyers who have already been given a volume coupon, through a call, a sample request, a conference, or a district-wide offer, can enter it on the quote form. Ordering across multiple Sparks and grade bands often qualifies for a bigger discount than a single Spark type. Neither publishes as a fixed rate: email sales@kidsmakethingsbetter.com before you submit a quote if you are pricing a large or district-wide order, and FutureMakers will work the numbers with you directly.
